My Approach
Years ago before there were state exams, there were city exams you had to pass to be able to work in that city. If you did not pass the exam, you did not work. It was vital to pass, so just like other electricians, I paid a lot of money to take courses on passing the exam. What I found was that these classes either 1) showed me two days of calculations, or 2) they would sit me in front of a computer and do practice tests for two days. I needed to learn how to be fast with the NEC not learn design calculations.
I started looking at patterns in the exams and found that no matter what or how they ask you, there are hints in the questions. I then developed a method that shows you the code is either a work process or a job site! The first time I used this method, I completed an exam in half the time!! I thought I had made a mistake because I was never that quick. This method works and simplifies how to use the NEC. The exams are for the most part based on finding references in the NEC with some math (Calculations, Ohms Law) included, and depending on where you test, they might add general knowledge as well.
I design my courses so that you can relate to the material we cover with how you work every day. This makes the references easier to use and with technique, you too can master the NEC.
Invest in You!
As an electrician, I have found that those that invest in taking courses that improve your knowledge of the trade, earn more! An educated electrician makes less mistakes and is a valuable asset for their company!
Let’s Get It!
I developed a lot of my courses in my kitchen years ago and would teach my buddies so they could improve! Everything you learn from me is exactly how I do things. I am a proud electrician who learned the trade and the code on my own. I will show you how not to be intimidated , but to be excited about learning!
